OnlyFans geoblocking: how it works and where it stops
How to plan geoblocking on OnlyFans: whom to block, the places people forget, what a VPN changes and a review routine that keeps the account hidden.
Part of the guide: Faceless content: what it is and how it works

Geoblocking is the simplest tool for keeping an account away from the people most likely to know you. It is also the one that is most often set up in five minutes and never looked at again. This guide covers how it works, how to build a list that fits your life, and where it stops.
What geoblocking does
A platform decides what to show a visitor partly from the location its systems associate with them, usually from the network address they connect from. Geoblocking tells the platform not to show your account to visitors from the countries and regions you select. Depending on the platform’s current options, you can also block specific network addresses.
Nothing is deleted and nothing about your content changes. The account simply does not appear for those visitors. Platforms change their settings from time to time, so take the logic from this guide and the current options from the platform’s own help pages.
Build the list around people, not countries
Start from the people, then translate them into places.
- 1
Map your world
Where do your family, friends, colleagues and former classmates live, work, study and spend their holidays? Write the places down before you open any settings.
- 2
Add the neighbours
People cross borders every day. Many people live in one country and work in the next, so blocking only one country leaves a gap.
- 3
Add the places that matter to you
Countries where relatives live, where you studied, where you used to live.
- 4
Think about travel
A colleague on a business trip is a visitor from somewhere else for a week. You cannot cover everything, which is why geoblocking is one layer among several.
- 5
Write the list down
A note of what you blocked, and why, makes later reviews a matter of minutes.

What it does not do
| Situation | What usually happens |
|---|---|
| A relative in a blocked country | Does not see the account |
| The same relative using a VPN | May appear to be elsewhere, and see it |
| A colleague travelling abroad | Sees what a visitor from that country sees |
| A friend who receives a screenshot | Sees the screenshot, wherever they are |
| Someone who knows your username | Can ask a person in another country to look |
This is why geoblocking works best together with the other layers: faceless content, a separate stage name, and a clean setup. Each one covers a gap that the others leave open.
Testing it
Open your profile address in a private browser window that is not logged in, from your normal network. If your own country is on the list, you should not see the account, or you should see a message that the page is unavailable. How a block looks varies from one platform to another.
Then search for your stage name while logged out. Search results and links shared by other people can sometimes still point to a profile name, even when the profile itself is hidden, so it is better to know what appears before anyone else does.
Keeping it up to date
Review every few months, and after any change in your life
- The list still matches where my family, friends and colleagues live and work.
- I added the places I moved to, studied in or travelled to this year.
- The platform’s settings and wording still match what I expect.
- My stage name and my account address have not changed.
How we handle it at SOMAS Management
At SOMAS Management, geoblocking is set up when the account is created, then reviewed regularly together with you. It sits next to anonymized content, a watermark and a separate setup, as one part of how privacy is protected. The agency side is described in what a creator agency actually does, and the watermark question has its own guide, watermarks and anonymity.
Questions and answers
Can I block my own country?
Yes, and many creators do, since it is where most of the people who know them live. It also gives you an easy way to test the setting.
Does geoblocking hide me from search engines?
Not necessarily. Search results and links shared by other people can sometimes still show a stage name. Search for yours while logged out and see what appears.
Does a VPN defeat geoblocking?
It can. A visitor using a VPN may appear to be in another country. That is one reason to combine geoblocking with other protections.
Can I change the list later?
Yes. The list can be edited whenever you like, and most people review theirs every few months.
